Migration as a process of intercultural communication: development of mutual understanding of contacting cultures

Бесплатный доступ

The submitted article explores migration as a process of intercultural communication, often leading to communicative failures due to differences between contacting cultures. Despite multiple studies of the theme “migration,” its role is contradictory; statements are ambivalent; evaluations are extremely divergent. Lack of knowledge of cultural types leads contacting cultures to cultural conflicts, which very often entails severe consequences. Problems of cultural constituents in migration processes are still in embryo, but it is exactly the cultural constituents that are basic for understanding in intercultural communication.
