The article analyzes migration attitudes and trends of economic behavior of the population in the Russian Arctic in the conditions of industrial development of the territory. The relevance of the research is related to the implementation of the "Strategy of development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and ensuring national security for the period up to 2035" (2020) in terms of creating conditions for employment of the local population, increasing income, improving the quality of life of indigenous peoples of the North by expanding the participation of mining companies in the socio-economic development of the territory. The problem of the research is to identify migration attitudes, features of economic behavior of indigenous peoples of the North in the implementation of projects of exploration and extraction of minerals in the Arctic. The purpose of the study is to develop scientific tools to identify migration attitudes, features of economic behavior of the local population as a result of activities of mining companies in the territories of traditional nature management. The article is based on the concept of benefit sharing in the implementation of projects of industrial development of the Arctic, sociological surveys of the population. Methods of ethnological expertise of projects are used. The results of the study allow developing measures to reduce migration, developing employment of the local population through the implementation of investment projects of mining companies, which ultimately reduces migration flows in the Arctic zone of the country.
