Nosocomial infections are one of the most serious problems in medicine, which makes pregnant, parturient, and puerperal women in large obstetric hospitals particularly prone to postpartum purulent septic diseases. We examined 32 postpartum women with combined infectious and inflammatory diseases of the uterus and pelvic veins. All patients underwent bacteriological examination of specimens taken from the cervical canal and comprehensive analysis of the uterine microflora. The most common facultative anaerobes isolated were Escherichia coli (19.8%), Enterococcus faecalis (17%), and Staphylococcus haemoliticus (13.3%). Staphylococcus aureus (10%), Klebsiella pneumonia (3.3%) were less common. Cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, and carbopeemes were found to be most effective against bacterial pathogens isolated from the uterus of patients with combined infectious and inflammatory diseases.
