Microaction in holistic drama analysis

The article discusses the parameters of highlighting the minimum unit of dramatic text, traces the historical path of the idea, analyzes the options of singling out such a unit by diff erent experts: theme, motive, function are singled out by literary scholars; replica, system replica, dialogue association, dialogue unity are singled out by linguists. It is assumed that the unit allocated should be organic for dramatic action and contribute to a holistic analysis of the drama. Based on the analysis of A.S. Pushkin's mall tragedy, "The Stingy Knight" proves the constructiveness of the allocation of a micro action unit. Holistic analysis of the dramatic work, based on micro action, allows to take into account the dynamic discrete continuum nature of the drama, to identify the levels of interaction in the work and adequately trace the dynamics of the characters. At the same time, the dialogue is considered in the structure of micro action, is subject to the holistic structure of the drama and does not become an end in itself of analysis, as it was until recently, especially in linguistic works. A holistic analysis would be useful both in the text study of the drama and in its staging on stage. This analysis is especially important when working with classical works, which would contribute to the careful attitude to the meaning of the play, adequate to its perception.
