Mineralogical study on sulfide mineralization zone abundant in Kyvvozh region of the Middle Timan showed that along with pyrite it contains galena, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, cobaltite, covelline, monazite, xenotime, Bi and Te minerals. Rare earth minerals such as monazite and xenotime are quite common. Ag-Se, Pb-Nb, Th-U, Sr-Tb mineral phases are noted. We can reveal two main stages of mineral formation: early pyrite stage and late chalcopyrite-galena-sphalerite stage associated with rare metals and rare earth minerals. Gold is most likely to be related to late stage of mineral formation process. Pyritization zones should be taken into consideration for gold deposits exploration. Areas with epigenetic chalcopyrite-galena-sphalerite and rare metal - rare earth mineralization are the most perspective.
