Introduction: In a relatively short period of time mini-slings were able to take a place among the methods of surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence. Purpose: This study focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the most commonly used in our practice, mini-sling Ophira. Materials and Methods: from February 2010 to July 2012 68 patients who had undergone this surgery were included in the study. Results: We did not encounter any serious intraoperative complications. At 12 months after surgery 63 (92.6 %) patients were examined. Negative «cough» test was observed in 55 patients (87.3 %). But 8 patients (2.3 %) had recurrence of stress urinary incontinence (positive «cough» test). Conclusions: The main mistakes leading to a negative result is wrong positioning sling and excessive tension. We believe that the mini-sling Ophira can be implanted under local anesthesia. With proper selection of patients for this operation, adequate preoperative examination and preparation of the patient, as well as strict following to stages of the operation, Ophira mini-sling provides a high efficiency and a small number of complications of surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence.
