This article analyzes the perspectives of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, and Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin regarding the question of the world revolution. The author elucidates the historical conditions that shaped and evolved Marxist views on this issue, taking into account the task of constructing socialism in a single country. Based on the analysis of the theoretical heritage of the founders and followers of Marxist thought, the conclusion is made that the theory of building socialism in a single country is a continuation of the theory of world revolution in new historical conditions. The author demonstrates that Joseph Stalin was not an opponent of the idea of the world revolution; rather, he was its proponent both theoretically and practically. In Stalin’s theoretical heritage, the construction of socialism in a single country was conceived as a stage in the world revolutionary process. From this perspective, his concept, which posits that the complete and definitive triumph of socialism is achievable in at least several countries, rather than in a single state, warrants particular attention. This analysis thus contributes to a deeper understanding of the interplay between the concepts of world revolution and socialism in one country, highlighting the continuity and adaptation of Marxist theory in response to the evolving socio-political landscape.
