Teacher’s mission in socio-pedagogical agenda of all-russian teachers’ congresses (second half of the XIXth - beginning of the XXth century)

The article analyzes the activity of teachers’ congresses in Russia from the 70-80’s of the XIXth - beginning of the XXth century. Traced are the topics of the congresses from purely methodological issues to the issues of legal status of teacher’s community and professional unions, the demands for democratic changes in school system and scathing criticism of antigovernmental policy in education together with the need for development of a radical program of school reform.
