The article provides a brief overview of the life of Metropolitan Eusebius of Krutitsky (Nikolsky). The period of his archpastoral ministry coincided with a turning point in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian state. Metropolitan Eusebius spent the last years of his life in Moscow. In 1922, after the arrest of His Holiness Patriarch Tikhon (Bellavin), he formally led the Church, fulfilling the duties assigned to him. This high ministry was preceded by more than twenty years of service in remote dioceses in need of kind and talented missionaries. This article discusses the main milestones of the ministry of Vladyka Eusebius in the Far East and his contribution to the spread of Orthodoxy in this region.
