Vaccination's soft power for international tourism

Recently the interaction of tourism and geopolitics has become more pronounced. The article is devoted to COVID-19 vaccination as a factor of soft power in accordance with the concept of geopolitical powers by American political scientist Joseph Nye. The decline in global mobility has caused dramatic changes in world tourism. Due to the risk of infection demand for travel was reduced. Research describes how the process of approving vaccines in different countries and regions has influenced international tourism, borders opening after pandemic and touristic flows resuming. World inbound tourism in the pandemic period is an indicator of international relations and influence in the geopolitical space. The examples of European countries and Thailand are described in the article. Also, vaccination tourism for Russian’s citizens is separately considered.
