Mammals at the areas of special conservation importance in the city of Moscow and the Moscow region

The process of identification of the Areas of Special Conservation Importance for mammals within the Emerald Net is reviewed in relation to Moscow Region. Rare species of mammals are treated as target objects in conservation measures, as well as indicators of natural areas, transformed by men a long time ago. The correspondence of European and regional conservation standards is discussed.
