M.M. Speransky and the creation of law codes of the Russian empire

The following article is devoted to one of the significant dates in the history of the Russian Law - to the 175th anniversary of the consummation of the Russian Empire law codes. The author considers M.M. Speransky's conceptual approaches to its creation, progress of work and the importance of the certain act of the systematization of the laws in the history of development of Russia's legal system. By applying to the history of creation and definition of the importance of the Russian Empire law codes, the usage of experience of the regulation of law codes in the practice of the modern development of the Russian state legal system is realized.
