Multifactorial risk analysis of gestational complications development and outcome of pregnancy in women with increased body mass index and obesity

The article deals with the reviews of 2189 pregnancy outcomes of women with normal weight, increased body mass index (BMI) and obesity in Samara region. Compelled statistical analysis of prevalence of various gestation complications such as recurrent miscarriage, threatened miscarriage, fetoplacental insufficiency, preeclampsia, preterm delivery and small for gestational age/ hyportrophic infants born in relation to BMI was performed. 308 delivery cases followed by investigation of placentas histology. The results clearly show influence of obesity on preterm delivery, preeclamplsia, threatened miscarriage and the risk of fetal hypotrophy. Morphologically proved fetoplacental insufficiency does not correlate with obesity and risk of fetal hypotrophy.
