Long-term variability of the concentration of solid particles of organic carbon in the waters of the Far Eastern seas according to satellite observations

The article is devoted to the study of long-term variability of the concentration of solid organic carbon particles (POC) in the waters of the Far Eastern Seas (Japanese, Okhotsk, Bering) based on satellite observations. Based on data from the MODIS hyperspectral system (2003-2022), the spatial and temporal variability of the concentration of solid particles of organic carbon was analyzed. Trends in decreasing concentrations at different rates in each of the seas have been identified, which is likely due to global warming and changes in the carbon cycle. Regional and seasonal patterns of POC distribution have been established, including concentration maxima in spring and summer caused by phytoplankton blooms.
