Определение структуры личности остается среди самых дискуссионных проблем в теории черт. Одной из самых известных моделей черт является структура «Большой Пятерки», получившая широкое распространение и продемонстрировавшая высокую воспроизводимость в различных культурах. Тем не менее, накапливаются и противоречия в данных, получаемых из разных стран и культур. В связи с этим стали разрабатываться модели, выделяющие разное количество факторов. Среди них можно отметить шестифакторные и семифакторные решения, а также претендующие на межкультурную универсальность «панкультурная тройка», двухфакторная и однофакторная модели. В статье приводится обзор классических и современных вариантов структуры личности, а также обсуждаются разные подходы к изучению черт.
