Urban mobility in a modern city

The article examines the development of everyday urban mobility in the context of the material growth of the city space. The views of urbanists and de-urbanists on the spatial growth of cities are compared. This paper analyses the main problems caused by the prevalence of personal vehicles by other modes of movement around the city. It considers possible scenarios of urban mobility systems alternative to "auto-utopias". The impact of the suburbanization process and various models of city zoning on urban mobility is analyzed separately.
