The author of the article considers the need for the development of new educational models in the framework of the transition to the new-generation federal education standards. The paper suggests the phased sequence of modeling. The structure of the formation model of professional competences of specialists of military higher education institutions, the basic components of the model and mechanisms of their interaction have been presented.
