The paper presents the results of implementation of a professional development programme in the system of continuing education, focused on the competence of teachers in the field of socialization of schoolchildren with HIA by means of adaptive and sporting activities. The author describes the pedagogical experiment in initial and final level detection of the competences formation. The article reveals the effective forms of teachers' training, significant forms of work aimed at the formation of professional competences in the field of socialization of schoolchildren with HIA with adaptive and sporting activities. The variety of competences allows teachers to assess the degree of potential impact on the social and pedagogical educational situation through adaptive and sporting after-school activities in special school, which makes positive impact on many life aspects of schoolchildren with disabilities.
