A model for promoting the social adaptation of older Vietnamese to digital transformation

Digital transformation encourages older people to flexibly adapt to digital changes. Aging is happening at a rapid pace, but Vietnam lacks a comprehensive model for improving the adaptation of older people to digital technologies. Based on a semi-formal interview with 92 experts, the article proposes a general model that includes four components: (1) the operational field of the model is the economic, political, social and cultural spheres of the digital transformation of Vietnamese society; (2) entities involved in facilitating the adaptation of the elderly to digital transformation (government authorities, public associations with the participation of the elderly, educational institutions and research organizations, manufacturers of digital technologies, social institutions); (3) the key objectives of such an activity and (4) the main relationships between the subjects of the model. The model summarizes the work that needs to be done by groups of subjects and the relationships between them in order to facilitate the social reintegration of older people into a digital society.
