Models of the dynamics of a self-gravitating polytropic gas

Using the method of hydrodynamic substitutions, a solution to the problem of the dynamics of a self-gravitating gas with a barotropic equation of state is constructed. Gas flow is described by Hubble’s law. The problem is solved within the framework of the classical theory of gravitation. A connection is established with the Emden- Lane theory of stellar polytropes.
