The article deals with the actual problem of acquisition of the Library Fund since the ever-increasing range of literature of different genres and directions offered by book publishers. This creates a problem of choice for the libraries in the purchase of new publications, which is complicated by the limited funding of libraries. In this regard, issues related to the formation of the order of purchased literature are of paramount importance. The generalized approach based on the formalization of users' attitude to the satisfaction of their information needs is proposed. The novelty of the developed mathematical model of acquisition of the Library Fund is that it is formulated in the form of optimization problems, different from the existing ones that take into account the information needs of different types of users is carried out by maximizing the demand function of purchased publications. This makes it possible to improve the quality of acquisition of the Library Fund.
