Models of regional sports policy

The article considers models of regional sports policy. Three variants are identified based on the systematization of foreign experience. The centralized model is also presented in Russia. Its main feature is its focus on professional sports, as a result of which the region actively strives to increase the number of local athletes represented in the national team. The financial component plays a great role in the development of sports. The decentralized model of sports policy is amateur, since it is focused on mass sports. High achievements are supported by national Olympic committees. Regions perform a social function. In the sectoral model, regions do not actively participate in the implementation of sports policy; its main conductors are sports federations. The role of private sports clubs is great, the significance of the region is auxiliary
