The article reveals upon rational composition of fine-grained concrete (FGM) with the use of ash and slag mixture (ASM) from the Moldavian State District Power Plant and a polycarboxylate superplasticizer. It studies microstructure and physicochemical properties of ASM (particle size distribution, specific surface area, elemental and oxide chemical composition, hydrosilicate and siliceous modules, quality factor). Mathematical models of the dependence of the bending strength and compression of the FGM on the consumption of Portland cement, the percentage of ASM and superplasticizer are constructed using the method of orthogonal central compositional planning. It analyses of the statistical significance and adequacy of mathematical models according to Student's and Fisher's criteria. The effectiveness of the ash and slag mixture of the optimal amount is evaluated according to the criterion of increasing the strength of the FGM when it is introduced both separately and in combination with a superplasticizer.
