Modeling the impact of bending deformation in a single mode optical fiber on the refractive index of core - shell

The article addresses the model of a deformed single-mode optical fiber. A mathematical model of deformation fibers is given. Cases have been found where the propagation of light along a bent fiber occurs as though along a uniaxial crystal. A certain value of the refractive index of a bent optical fiber differs from the refractive index of the undeformed fiber.
