European educational system modernization in the context of globalization

The paper analyzes aspects of change in the European education system, triggered by the process of globalization, as well as the ways of establishing of a unified structure of the education system, which led to the need for an appropriate regulatory framework. The author sets out the quality criteria to be met by the educational system, considers aspects of public and private education, the global ranking of universities. In order to explore the level of training in Europe in different areas, the level of illiteracy in case of Italy and Greece are analyzed, the requirements for a specialist in the context of globalization are described, the relationship of «globalization» and «internationalization» concepts are marked.
