The article describes the prerequisites for the modernization of the Russian socio-economic system. The author emphasized their connection with the problems of ensuring national economic security. The main groups of these problems (technological, demographic, managerial, etc.) are identified and an integrated approach to their solution is proposed. This approach is based on the revitalization of state economic policy.
