Preservation and rational use of the entire grown crop, obtaining the maximum of products from raw materials is one of the main state tasks. The development of the science of storage and processing of agricultural products and the widespread introduction of mechanization made it possible to put into practice new technological methods that reduce product losses and reduce storage and processing costs. The article deals with the modernization of the expander. The disadvantages of this apparatus are the presence of a safety clutch with a shear pin. When overloaded, the pin is sheared and the clutch disengages. To replace a broken element, the expander does not work, which leads to a decrease in its productivity, which significantly affects the productivity of the entire workshop. To eliminate this shortcoming, it is proposed to replace the existing safety clutch with a new design. The proposed design of the clutch ensures its operation during overloads without stopping the expander. This allows you to increase the productivity of the machine, as well as the entire line, to ensure the stability and efficiency of the expansion process by eliminating stops that occur during overloads.
