Modernisation of the political system of the Russian society

The article reviews the modern political system in Russia and marks a number of trends inherent in the modern Russian political process. The analysis of the definitions of "modernisation", "political modernisation", "modernisation of the political sphere or political system" was carried out. Basic directions of the modernisation of the political sphere of Russian society and the state are revealed, such as the establishment of democratic institutions, the development of a system of values, attention to the spiritual component of the process of modernisation, inclusion of political parties, regional elites and the media into discussion on the modernisation of the society, in addition to the developers and expert community. The concept of modernisation is the process of formation of such qualities of the Russian society which are necessary for a free, dynamic and effective development of the society and the individuals, making it possible for them to use and realise their potential, allowing them to feel confident and competitive in the modern world.
