Modernization of territorial structure of the region

The article describes the results of typologization of the municipal formations of the Vologda region and provides an assessment of the socio-economic potential of economic zones. The blocks of the main problems of the economic zones of the region have been identified, they slow down the rates of economic growth and do not allow increasing the competitiveness of the region as a whole, priority areas for the development of economic zones, the mechanism and the basic principles of implementing the management system have also been determined.
