Modernization transformations of Russian higher education in the perception of the teaching staff of universities

The article is devoted to the actual problem - the identification and analysis of paradigm and value contradictions in the university community of Russia and the impact of these contradictions on the effectiveness of ongoing reforms in higher education. At present, in the context of cultural and economic globalization, the process of Russia's integration into the world economic and cultural space is continuing. Russia's desire to create an innovative economy, the development of science-intensive technologies, to increase the country's competitiveness in the global economic space determines the need for large-scale modernization reforms, including in higher education. Reforming the higher education system in Russia in accordance with the challenges and imperatives of the changed social reality will increase the competitiveness of domestic education in the world market of educational services and the country's competitiveness rating as a whole. In this context, the study of the sociocultural aspects of modernization of higher education in modern Russia, conditioned by the existence of contradictions and disputes about the forms and methods of reforming the national education, the difference in value-world outlook in the university community is of particular relevance to Russian sociological science. Based on a secondary analysis of the materials of sociological research, the article identifies and analyzes opposing positions among the faculty and top management of higher education, reveals the reasons for the critical attitude of the university community to the ongoing modernization reforms. The main factors influencing the perception by the teaching staff of reforms in the sphere of higher education, including those related to the sociocultural heterogeneity of the subjects of the university professional community, are expressed by the expressed polar notions about the essence of modernization of higher education. The influence of higher education reforms on the effectiveness of the teaching staff, as well as the interdependence of the prospects of modernization reforms and their perception by the faculty of Russian universities is determined.
