Mammary gland and the lactation period in cow moose on the Sumarokovskaya farm in the Kostroma region

The mammary gland in cow moose during the lactation period is characterized by intensive development of the glandular tissue (74,3%) and by a small amount of connective tissue (25,3%). The ratio of parenchyma to stroma is 3.1:1. Lactation duration and productivity qualities of moose cows on the Sumarokovskaya farm are not permanent and depend on physiological state of the animal’s organism and morphofunctional parameters of the mammary gland.
