Dairy cattle of Orel region: results of 2019

Dairy cattle is one of the leading livestock industries in the world and in the Russian Federation. This industry solves the most important problem of mankind - the provision of food, primarily dairy and meat products. Milk and products obtained as a result of its processing make up a significant part of the diet of people, providing them with protein, milk fat, calcium, vitamins and other substances necessary for life. Thus, the accelerated development of dairy cattle breeding and the increase in milk production while ensuring its high competitiveness should be considered as the most important task of the regional agrarian policy, the solution of which will ensure the efficient and dynamic development of the industry. The article presents the main achievements and problems of dairy farming in the Orеl region for 2019; the recommendations necessary for the successful development of the industry are given.
