The study deals with the problem of the youth self-determination on the labor market. To remain the most effective employees on the modern labor market, young people need to take a proactive approach to life and create a special type of their relationship with the employers, i.e. partnership. The respondents’ active attitude to life is investigated according to three indicators during the empirical research. These indicators include the desire of young people to have their own business, their behavior in unexpected circumstances, and the employment opportunities in their field of study. There are three categories of youth interaction with the employer. They are defined as an “owner”, a “partner”, and a “worker”. They differ in the ability to take responsibility. An “owner” is fully responsible for the activities. A “partner” wills to share the liability with a partner. A “worker” takes responsibility for the activities within his status. The paper presents the correlations of these types of relationship with the level of education and income.
