Youth in labor market: socio-professional portrait of unemployed and employment strategies

The article presents the results of a sociological study that was conducted in the period of 2020 on the basis of the Employment Center of the city of Naberezhnye Chelny of the Republic of Tatarstan. The object of the study was citizens who applied to the center of registration as unemployed and were at that time in search of suitable vacancies. The results of the study allowed us to create a social and demographic portrait of unemployed youth. The main channels of employment are considered and the difficulties encountered by respondents in finding a job are identified. It outlines the range of problems that citizens had to face when receiving services, and makes a list of main complaints about the work of the service. The plans of young people for training in employment centers, as well as strategies for choosing a profession or programs for training and subsequent employment are demonstrated. Measures to improve the efficiency of the state employment service are proposed.
