Youth in the context of demographic problems of Russia

The article carries out a brief analysis of the causes of the demographic problem of the modern Russia. The author considers its dependence, along with the effect of "demographic hole" formed as a result of historical events in the country, from contemporary negative socio-economic factors, spread of hedonistic values inherent to a consumption society, and adverse moral and psychological climate that is a consequence of the uncertainty of prospects for the future. The author emphasizes the importance of young people’s involvement in resolution of this problem, which is possible by creating favorable socio-economic and socio-cultural environment and implementation of effective youth policy.
