The article presents the definition of the lifeworld of the modern youth generation as an intersub-jective reality embodied in everyday practices, the construction of which occurs in the process of life under the influence of objective and subjective factors. The authors show that social media play an important role in the structure of the youth's lifeworld. The article presents the authors' sociological research conducted by the in -depth interview method. During the course of this study, the components of the modern youth generation's lifeworld, which are represented through the interaction of young users on social media, were investigated. In-depth analysis of interviews with youth representatives has highlighted five stereotypes of youth social networking practices: 1) aimless 'wandering' on virtual social platforms, 2) situational presence on social networks, 3) online interactions to expand social capital, 4) personal development and 5) commercial activities.
