The article by John Dillon (Trinity College, Dublin) is devoted to an interesting page in the history of adventure ideas. It traces the path made by metaphysics of the platonic sense from the "moderate monism" of Plato and the Ancient Academy, through the dualism of Plutarch and Noumenia, to the monistic position of Plotinus.
