Monitoring of breast tumors in cats in Perm

The purpose of the study was to conduct a statistical analysis of the incidence of mammary gland tumors in cats in Perm. The results of the study showed that mammary tumors are most common in animals in the geriatric period of life, according to our results, the age of cats with pathology is from 11 to 14 years. We attributed the breed predisposition to a subjective conclusion, since the number of outbred animals significantly prevailed over animals with a certain breed affiliation. It should be noted that the Siamese breed has a tendency to predisposition to breast tumors, as indicated in many sources. According to the histological structure of tissues, the most common manifestation of tumor lesions of the mammary glands in cats are adenoma in 22 % of cases and carcinoma in 26 % of cases. Fibrocystic mastopathy was noted in 37 % of the examined animals, which in some cases may precede the formation of a tumor.
