The article deals with the nature and functions of pedagogical monitoring, and its value in self-organized educational activity of higher school students learning foreign languages. The paper discusses its value as an important factor in educational and professional self-organization, manifested in ability to meet educational, professional and personal challenges. The authors have found that in the process of personal development, formation of self-organization skills affects the efficiency of students’ competences development.
