Monitoring of the social and economic changes in small-scale business

The author analyses the results of a survey of heads of small-scale enterprises, held in 2007 in Moscow oblast, Vladimir oblast and the Moscow city, and compares them with the results obtained in the surveys of 2000-2003. Like five years ago, the typical head of a small enterprise is aged 30-40 and has higher technical education. He previously lost his job or had not enough means to support his family. The outcomes of the survey show some changes in the small-scale business over the past years.
