State monitoring of large predatory mammals populations in the southwest of Primorskyi krai

In a southwest of Primorskyi krai state monitoring of populations of Far East leopard and Amur tiger is carried out. The account of animals number as the major parameter of monitoring, is spent to the snow pe-riod on traces. Monitoring provides an estimation of number of victims of predators and conditions of an inhabitancy. Leopard and tiger in region cause alarm for their survival. The main threats for their popula-tions is reduction of habitats and poaching. For preservation of populations of large predatory mammals nature protection measures are offered, the main things from which are regulation of timber cuttings and hunting.
