Morphofunctional characteristics of the leg muscles of experimental animals for experimental fan-like limb lengthening

When 8 mongrel adult dogs were subjected to "fan-like" leg lengthening after closed flexion osteoclasia of leg bones and compared with 5 control animals, it was demonstrated that the use of the special mode of distraction to obtain radial regenerated bones did not lead to the non-reversible decrease of functional state of the neuromuscular system, which considerably differed from that of control series. The histological studies of leg muscles performed demonstrate the moderately marked reactive changes, characteristic of tissue tension, which are compensated by regeneration of myosymplast intracellular structures
