In infections diseases of mother during pregnancy and hard forms of gestosis, the number of growing and maturating follicles in the ovaries becomes considerably less (hypoplastic ovaries). The number of atresial follicles increases in the ovaries of fetuses and neonates born from women with light forms of gestosis and placental failure (hyperplastic ovaries).
