Morphological peculiarities of mycelial growth and fruiting in certain strains of the edible xylotrophic basidiomycete Lentinus edodes

This work was undertaken to examine differences in vegetative growth and fruit-body formation in 10 strains of the xylotrophic basidiomycete Lentinus edodes (shiitake), namely F-249, 2-T, 0779, 4080, 84-siit, 58-siit, M- 370, Ny, Ner, and Poot. The morphological, cultural, and growth characteristics of the mycelium, the fruiting times, and the productivity of the above strains were studied. The obtained results make it possible to use the data from this study in mushroom-growing practice.
