Morphological characteristics of table beet varieties in the forest-steppe conditions of the Salair foothills

The article presents the results of observations on the development of morphological indicators of five varieties of table beet. The description of root crop characteristics, rosette and leaf shape is made. The most aligned root crops (5 points), in our study, formed varieties: Creole and Mulatto, standard - 4 points. For mechanized cultivation, such an indicator as the immersion of the root crop in the soil is also important. In our case, the immersion in the soil of rounded root crops, varieties: Bordeaux 237, Creole, Mulatto, Marashka was 1/2, in the variety of Ethiopian 2/3.
