Studies of the pathogenesis of ischemic damage to the central nervous system and search for pharmacological agents designed to stimulate regenerative processes in such pathology have great practical significance in neurological clinics. One of the experimental models reproducing the clinical picture of focal ischemic cerebral infarction is the photoinduced thrombosis of blood vessels of the cerebral cortex. The advantage of this model is that the method of reproduction is non-invasive allowing to select the desired localization of ischemic cortical infarct, the volume of which is reproduced from the experience into an experience that allows to get a statistically reliable quantitative data on the extent of brain damage, the dynamics of pathological and reparative processes in the focal ischemic focus. The use of this model makes it possible to quantify the neuroprotective effects of drugs used for pharmacological correction of ischemic disease of the brain.
