Morphological changes some of the support tissues of the eye in cats in the age aspect

The article presents the results of studies of the morphological features of some auxiliary tissues of the eyes of cats over the age of eight years, namely: the eye muscles, upper and lower eyelids, the lacrimal glands. In these structures, quite significant age-related changes were observed. In the studied foreign and domestic literature, we did not find data on changes in the age-related nature in the visual analyzer of cats. The changes characteristic of various diseases of the cats' eyes are described, but age-related changes are practically not reflected. The aim of our study is the morphological description of the processes of age-related changes in such a complex organ as the eye and its subsidiary structures of cats over eight years old. Methods used generally accepted in histological studies. The preparations obtained were studied in an Axioscop 40 light microscope and recorded with an Infinity1 video camera. Pathological processes diagnosed in early stages in the tissues of the visual analyzer in age cats suggest that prophylactic measures aimed at restraining development and, accordingly, preserving the organ of vision are recommended to owners...
