In this article the motivation of students of the Altai state medical University to exercise and train under conditions of quarantine and self-isolation, is analyzed. We also find out students’ opinion about the fact how the motivation can be increased, since during self-isolation people have more spare time to exercise at home. Certainly, one way or another, the lifestyle becomes more passive (there is no need to go to school, to gym, or to some extra-classes), and inactivity is one of the most important risk factors for various somatic diseases. Another risk factor remains and comes to the fore - the immersion into the media space and long-term use of gadgets (computer, phone, or tablet). The simplest method of preventing somatic pathology, psychological overload is physical exercise. That is why this research is particularly relevant nowadays. The survey was done using "google forms". In the course of the research, we discovered that the motivation remained unchanged for a big number of people in self-isolation. Yet, it needless to say that some students refused to train. They explained this by a number of reasons (the closure of gyms and insufficient space in the apartment, the lack of sports equipment, lack of free time). The pleasant thing was that we identified a group of students who, on the contrary, began training only in the conditions of quarantine, although they had not been into sports before. We also found out what, as the students think, will help to increase their motivation for training more. This work will be continued after the removal of all restrictions and the restoration of the usual life for students (offline learning) in two aspects: whether those who stopped practicing physical culture in self-isolation will return to training and whether those who started training in quarantine will stop training.
