The uniform of fatherland or how color fastness of uniform baize was tested in piece-time

In the article an event from the history of Commissariat of Russian Empire's Ministry of Defense that is devoted to the problem of the army regimental provision is regarded. In the post reform period new industrial technologies had great influence on military fabrics and cloth delivery, technologies of fabric dying with artificial coloring agents. The Ministry of Defense made an experiment for color durability testing for dark green uniform baize, which lasted from 1886 till 1895.
