Municipal unitary enterprises: problems and perspectives of the economic activity in conditions of market economy

The article deals with the problem of efficiency of the municipal enterprises' activity. It reveals their role in the city economy, the impact on the revenues and expenditures of municipal budgets. Today, the market economic conditions increase competition, make hard conditions for the activity of municipal enterprises. Paying the attention to their activity in solving local issues and many socio-economic problems concerning the municipalities, the authors make a conclusion about advantages of their existence and their development perspectives.
